One of the easiest ways to advocate for kids and schools in our communities is to be an informed and active voter. Take the next few weeks to get informed and to have conversations with friends and family!
For the weeks leading up to our May 21, 2013, Special Election, my students and I will be posting information that makes it easy to be an informed voter. There are quite a few candidates and measures that will directly impact kids and schools.
So, how to get started? Spend a little time with your Portland Public School Board candidates…either attend a forum or watch a recent forum online. Here’s a recording from the PPS School Board Candidate League of Women Voters Forum. Pop some popcorn. Invite over some friends. And start reading and watching.
