Get Involved: Help Kids and Families Escape Cycles of Domestic Violence

From my Summer Youth Enrichment Students…

We are students at Portland State University partnering with Domestic Violence Resource Center to help kids and their families escape cycles of domestic violence. We will be redecorating a room in Monika’s House Shelter for families to live in. We are fund raising to be able to buy supplies so we can update and decorate the room, making it a tranquil home that helps foster healing.

Photos of the room in its current state are to the right in the gallery.

Visit DVRC’s website at http://www.dvrc-or.org/

Things we need include but are not limited to:

  • Two twin beds
  • Flooring
  • Paint
  • Linens
  • Curtains
  • Curtain rod
  • Rugs
  • Closet organizers
  • Bedside table
  • Book shelf
  • Lamps
  • Wall decor

Funds raised that exceed what is needed for the project will be donated directly to DVRC.

Just a note: We used one of our existing Business PayPal accounts, so when you donate the company name will show as “Christina Miller & John Conley.” Do not be confused! All donations will directly benefit DVRC.
